The
Brief

Becket Chambers is a barristers’ chambers based in Canterbury. They wanted a series of recruitment films that would communicate their culture, collaborative approach and varied legal work, while positioning the chambers as an attractive alternative to larger London practices.

A key focus was attracting talented aspiring barristers to complete their pupillage at Becket Chambers by highlighting the quality of its mentoring, the breadth of experience available and the benefits of developing a legal career in Kent.

The Production

We interviewed barristers at different stages of their careers, from pupils and recently qualified members to experienced practitioners responsible for mentoring the next generation. Their experiences helped communicate the supportive culture of the chambers and what makes its pupillage programme distinctive.

Alongside the interviews, we captured the barristers’ working lives: preparing cases, collaborating with colleagues, speaking with clients and travelling to court. This brought the stories to life and presented a more complete picture of the people, work and relationships behind the chambers.

The
Outcome

We produced around six films, including individual profile pieces and a broader film dedicated to the pupillage experience. We also created a banner film for the Becket Chambers website, following the working day of a barrister and giving visitors an immediate sense of the people and practice.

We have since returned to film additional interviews, allowing the chambers to introduce new members and keep its content current.

The films gave Becket Chambers a more personal and engaging way to communicate its culture, expertise and approach. They helped position the chambers as both a trusted choice for clients and an attractive place to build a legal career—supporting its ambition to attract talented pupils and barristers who might otherwise look towards London.
