The
Brief

Kent County Council commissioned a series of six short films to support the Kent Environment Strategy Awards.

The aim was to spotlight businesses and charities across the county that are making a real environmental difference, from improving green spaces to delivering social, health, and economic benefits through nature-led initiatives.

These films would be shown at the annual awards event, shared on the KCC website, and used across social media to inspire action and awareness among other organisations.

The Production

Each film was designed to follow a consistent framework, allowing for variation in tone and style depending on the story being told.

We visited a wide range of organisations — from outdoor learning providers to green community spaces — capturing their work through natural, location-based interviews and gentle documentary footage. The films were shaped around the voices of participants and project leaders, offering heartfelt, first-person perspectives on the impact of their work.

To maintain fairness across all projects, no single film was given visual prominence over others — but each one still reflects the unique personality and values of the group featured.

Outcome

The films were used as part of the Kent Environment Strategy Awards ceremony and continue to live on digital platforms including KCC and Explore Kent.

Each one acts as a short, inspiring case study — showcasing how environmental thinking can lead to real social and economic value.

The series also helped build public awareness and encouraged other organisations in the region to consider more sustainable, community-driven approaches to their work.
