The
Brief

To mark the 15th anniversary of the high-speed Pendolino train, Alstom commissioned a film to celebrate its long-term impact on UK travel, industry, and communities.

The brief was to go beyond a product showcase, highlighting not just the train’s engineering success, but the broader economic and social benefits it has brought to key cities along the West Coast Main Line, and the future of the fleet as it undergoes its mid-life upgrade.

The Production

Filming took place across multiple days and locations to reflect the full scale of the Pendolino story.

We began at Alstom’s Widnes facility, capturing the train’s modernisation process and spotlighting the apprentices developing skills in advanced rail engineering.

From there, we filmed in Liverpool and Manchester to explore the wider regional impact of improved connectivity with London — from business growth to job creation.

With a composed voiceover, slow-motion shots, and detailed visuals, the film mixes technical detail with human stories to celebrate the Pendolino’s past, present and future in UK rail.

The film is used by Alstom for stakeholder engagement, internal communications, and public awareness — helping celebrate a key milestone in British high-speed rail while reinforcing Alstom’s role in shaping its future.
