Gardener App Series

Working from the initial brief, we collaborated closely with POTS through a series of discussions to refine the key messaging for both sides of the app.

From this, we developed two scripts that wove the core ideas into clear animated narratives, using characters and garden-based scenarios to naturally position POTS as an essential tool. Once the scripts were locked, we explored character design and animation style, pitching visual directions and refining them through feedback until everyone was aligned.

Production was entirely animation-based, with around ten days of post-production across the two films. This project pushed us into more intricate character animation than we’d done previously. Rather than simple characters on flat backgrounds, we built richer scenes that placed gardeners and app users into believable situations. To achieve a more grounded, almost handmade feel, we combined our usual digital asset animation with a significant amount of frame-by-frame work. This approach was more time-consuming but helped avoid anything overly cartoony or corporate, resulting in a warmer, more human style.
